How is my country index calculated?

I've chosen ten indexes and made my index calculated from them. So these are the best countries in the World in 2021. The score can be 0 to 10 based on the country's place in the other ten ratings. Of course, it is a fun project where I compare countries in an unweightened way judging only by their place in different ratings.

What colours in the table mean?

I divided all countries into six groups by score to see overall trends and positions. Here is the legend. And a number of countries in a range. Each country is clickable so that you can see its position in every index.

Who came up with this rating?

I'm Spartak. I have a Youtube channel and a blog on Instagram. They both in Russian for now. My hobbies are researches, architecture and city planning.

Which indexes did I use for the rating?

I tried to choose only trusted ratings with maximum countries coverage. In my list are only countries that participated in at least seven indexes. That way, I got 164 countries, but if I'd choose to use all ten indexes, then only 122 countries would pass.

  • The Legatum Prosperity Index This index can easily replace mine because it is built on 300 indicators. I find this index very interesting because it shows the dynamics for every country in each sector on a timeline.
  • Corruption Perceptions Index Unfortunately, the corruption index has not been updated yet, so the data is one year behind. This is a fundamental index for the development of the state, and it is partly a self-fulfilling prophecy.
  • The Organized Crime Index The crime index is complex and includes not one score but several at once, but I used only an score of the crime rate in countries.
  • Index of Economic Freedom Comprehensive index covering jurisprudence, trade, investment, business etc. There are 12 indicators related to economic freedom.
  • Global Gender Gap Report A critical topic of the gender gap. This applies not only to wages but also to the rights to work, education, participation in society's management, and other indicators.
  • World Happiness Report Of course, the topic of this year's index was the situation with COVID and how it affected residents of different countries.
  • Global Innovation Index The main index of the development of countries in recent years is precisely innovation. Different countries invest in different areas, and some have succeeded more than others.
  • World Press Freedom Index It is impossible to imagine a developed society with a non-free press. Any problems should be discussed openly.
  • Global Health Security Index I wanted to use an index of medicine availability, but I could not find a trusted source with many countries covered. This index is very young and has received a lot of criticism, but it addresses a topic that is relevant to all of us.
  • Henley Passport Index For me, this is the index of citizen freedom. Index showing how citizens of a particular country are close to the status of "Citizen of the World."
